Vintage Alicia Nelson-Homer Etherton Woven Protection Basket COA Museum Quality 283AThis very rare native-American basket is by Alicia Nelson, daughter-in-law of Mary Holiday Black, who is credited with reviving and sustaining Navajo basket-weaving. Mary Black's daughters are no different, with the majority developing and honing their skills to become the Indian Nation's predominant basket weavers.
The eleven (11) arrowheads are carved by the late Homer Etherton (1919-2009), noted authority and master knapper of Navajo arrowheads.
Basket is in excellent condition. with minimal wear as seen in photos.
