    Description

    Tohono O'odham unique friendship design basket with feathers and birds in flight. CA 1960. An unusual shape with an almost flat, narrow bottom flaring up and out to a whopping 20 1/2" diameter. Woven in the traditional materials with a bear grass foundation, winter yucca, and devil's claw. The male and female figures encircle the center of the basket, hands held with large feather elements with birds in flight between them in devil's claw. A beautiful basket, unusual in shape and design - but like most friendship baskets they resonate and one can "feel" the unity they represent.  20 1/2" diameter, 3 1/4" high
