    Description

Beautiful piece! Please see photos for details and measurements and thank you for your interest!
The Tohono O'odham lived in the drier central area of the Sonoran Desert where beargrass was plentiful. They mostly used beargrass (Nolina microcarpa) for the foundation of their baskets. Beargrass is coarse making the baskets less supple. Tohono O'odham also stitched in willow but it was scarce. The Tohono O'odham tended to use more devil's claw in their designs.
