A rare find. Virtually all Nettie Watt baskets are in museums. We can't find another one of her creations for sale or in private hands.This is a Splint & Sweet Grass Egg Basket. It features a double handle and measures a 13” high (including handles) x 11” in diameter. Comes with Nettie's
original dated (1979) label.
In perfect vintage condition with no loose weave or break. Obtained from estate sale of Native American collector. (See our other listings.)

Nettie Watt is acknowledged to be the most famous and skilled artisan of the traditions of Seneca and Iroquois basket weaving. Her works can be found in the Smithsonian and other Native American Museums.
