    Description

2 Lovely vintage genuine handwoven traditional Navajo Wedding baskets, Native American Indian basket classics!
Larger one is about 15.5-16" diameter.  This one is a bit different in that it seems to have a grass bundle foundation, but has the split sumac wraps.  Thus it is not quite as stiff as the smaller basket.  This might have been made by a weaver that was perhaps Paiute or Hopi, and the intermixing of their traditions or styles is not unusual, and sometimes other Native American Indian tribes still the Navajo wedding baskets for ceremonies, etc. But this is not an imported knock off as you can tell when you look closely at the materials.  It does have fading which is typical of these Navajo wedding baskets with age.
Traditional 12 points (black mountains). This one looks like it might have been used in ceremony or other- has slightly darkened center as pictures show.
Smaller one is about 12.5-13" diameter with traditional sumac foundation and split wraps.
Colors on this look pretty crisp, good.
    Traditional 10 points (black mountains).
    Striking classic geometric pattern.
    Nice patina.
Both Sold as is, maybe only a few scattered broken stitches or few spots as I've tried to show in pictures, no returns, but correspondingly modest opening bid!
If no interest, these will get donated as  education outreach pieces.
