    1953-1954 Oldsmobile 88 Deluxe Steering Wheel with Power Steering Insert. This steering wheel is not a remake, IT IS RARE AND its the real thing. It was
    NOT
    "Professionally" restored. I dabble in restorations but am not a professional. I had originally listed this wheel as a vintage ford wheel but a fellow e baye'r noticed the indentation where the Power steering insert was and messaged me to let me know what automobile belonged to (Thank you). It took me two months to get it to this stage and to fill in the major cracks with an epoxy that will not crack or shrink with time. I did my homework and did the best I could. It is not perfect, does have some minor imperfections but most are on the underside of the wheel. its a beautiful looking wheel. Found a reproduction insert and the original horn ring. Not all 1953-54 models had power steering so the insert indicated that this particular model came equipped with power steering. The colors are Shell white and colonial red, not original colors but when doing research I noticed that most of the cars made in that era where two toned. What you see is what you get, no hardware to attach the horn ring. The plastic covering the center globe of the horn ring is complete, no cracks but has two very small nicks, still looks great for age. More than happy to send more pics upon request. This wheel would look great on the wall of a man cave too if you dont have the car.
